Gunung Bromo and the Sand Sea / by Supreet Kaur

The volcanic Bromo region in Java, Indonesia is a lunar-like landscape with surreal beauty. Rising from the guts of the ancient Tengger caldera, Gunung Bromo is one of the multiple volcanoes to have emerged from a vast crater - Bromo, Kursi, Batok and Semeru. This vast system of volcanoes stretching over 10km is surrounded by a sea of ashen volcanic sand, called the Segara Wedi (Sand Sea).
